Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Required permission:
responses:read
1. Open the Data View
Section titled “1. Open the Data View”Go to Data > Data View in the sidebar. The viewer loads with your most recent data source selected.
2. Switch between data sources
Section titled “2. Switch between data sources”Use the data source selector at the top to pick what you want to look at. Options include:
- Form responses from any of your published forms
- Datasets you’ve uploaded via import
Select one and the viewer refreshes with that data.
3. Search records
Section titled “3. Search records”Type in the Search box to find specific records. The search runs across all columns, so you can search by name, email, or any other field value.
4. Filter and explore
Section titled “4. Filter and explore”Use column headers to sort data. Scroll horizontally if your dataset has many columns. Click into individual records to see the full details.
5. Preview dataset contents
Section titled “5. Preview dataset contents”Select any data source to see its contents inline. No need to export just to check what’s in there.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The data viewer is read-only. You’re browsing data, not editing it.
- Form responses update in real time. As people submit forms, new records appear in the viewer.
- Imported datasets and form responses live side by side in the same viewer. The selector is the only thing that changes.
- For bulk operations like reporting, export the data instead. See Exporting Data.
