Reviewing Judge Applications

Approve or reject judges who applied through your public application form.

  • You need Admin or Owner role
  • Required permission: judges:approve
  • You should have judge applications enabled and have received at least one submission

Navigate to JudgingAdd Judges in the sidebar. Click the Applications tab. Pending applications show up here with a count badge.

Click on an application to see the details the applicant submitted — name, email, category preference, and anything else your form collects.

Type into the Notes field if you want to record why you’re approving or rejecting someone. These notes are internal — the applicant never sees them.

Click Approve to add the person as a judge in your faire. Click Reject to decline them. Either way, the application moves from the Pending list to the Reviewed tab.

Switch to the Reviewed tab to see everything you’ve already acted on. Each entry shows who reviewed it and when.

  • Approving an application creates a judge record with all the details the applicant provided. You can edit that record afterward like any other judge.
  • Rejected applicants aren’t notified. If you want to tell them, you’ll need to reach out separately.
  • You can’t undo a rejection from the UI, but you can always add the person manually through Adding Judges.
